Grandma’s Cookies

Mom Newnham

Grandma Newnham’s famous Pumpkin Cookies are orange – just like Juniper Ridge Fire Opal. The popularity of these crazy pumpkin cookies with the Travel Channel crew inspired us to share the sweetness!

INGREDIENTS:

1-1/4 cup Crisco
1-1/2 cup Sugar
1 15-oz can Pumpkin
2 eggs
3 cups flour
dash of salt

1 6-oz bag butterscotch chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup golden raisins
1-1/2 tbsp soda
1-1/2 tbsp cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS:

Spoon onto cookie sheet and bake at 350 F for 10 to 15 minutes.

Ma Newnham’s Pumpkin cookies are famous with rock-hounds and fee-diggers from Oregon to Key West – to Switzerland, and until now, the recipe has been a secret. They’re a great boost after a morning of hard rocking, and no need to feel guilty for eating more than one – nobody can resist that. Happy Rock-Hounding!!
